Two words: Kanye & Bags! West’s kicks FINALLY made a subtle appearence on the runwyay, in the form of red sneakers on two different models. And oh hot daaaamn the bags this season are just something else. Studio director Paul Helbers, along with his boss Marc Jacobs, clearly outdid themselves this season. There were shocking and exciting new hybrids on the catwalk, including an oversized Monogram Matt/Vernis, and the classic Monogram Canvas, but with Black Leather Trim. The collection is acredited to be heavily influenced by the term: “the traveling wardrobe of an African king”, which is obvious due to almost every model totting a gorgeous LV original duffle, messenger, or briefcase. Clothing wise, think high-end luxury meets technical functionality, with an interesting use of different and innovative fabrics in classic peices like overcoats and dress pants. Overall, Louis Vuitton stayed true to its claim of ultra high end fashion, and again, I find myself personally attached to this collection, as it’s stuff that I can actually picture myself wearing on an every day basis. Leather gloves and luxury scarves are obvious staples for the Louis Vuitton man. Overall, a dope show in Paris.
