Clutches, portfolios, document holders, larger wallets – whatever you wish to call them, they have been making appearances on the runways of Paris and Milan menswear fashion shows for a handful of seasons now. I remember one year, Dolce & Gabanna sent every single look down their catwalk with a different variation of a clutch. And why shouldn’t men be allowed the luxury of carrying all pertinent necessities in a stylist leather holder that both coordinates and compliments their look? Wallet, cigarettes, chap stick, lotion, mini cologne, business cards, mints or gum, a pen, cell phone – all these things need to travel with guys too, and its unrealistic to expect all these to be jammed in random pockets (when that equates a faux pas anyway). Given my opinion on clutches, you can imagine my delight as I saw the Milanese designers sending these beautiful creations down their runway a few days ago, perfectly styled with suits and more conventional menswear. The Ferragamo one is one of my favorites!
