- At the moment, I’m laying in bed, listening to music, and finally allowing myself some time to blog. Had a nice brunch with the family this morning, and enjoyed a beautiful church service. It truly is a gorgeous Fall Sunday.
- One of the main reasons (not excuses, but reasons) that the blog has been dormat the last few weeks is simply because I ran out of disk space on this harddrive, and it actually took more work than initially imagined to alleviate. A removable harddrive, a retrieval of all 17 500 photos ever uploaded unto this MacBook, a slow sift through them all, and this and that, and finally the computer is ready to cooperate with me.
- Currently, I’m listening to Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars; man this kid has some serious talent.
- I need to rant about American Express and their horrible customer service. My Holt Renfrew Amex was canceled due to a) secret information from the credit bureau, b) lack of activity, c) late payments and also d) internal reasons. Each time I spoke with someone, I was told a different combination of reasons from a to d, and none of them are correct. And all the Holts Points I’ve been accumulating over the past three years also get lost in a void. Cool hey? Take my advice and stay away.
- Tiffany & Co. is another company I’m currently holding a grudge with right now. Lack of customer service, poor quality products and no product knowledge to boot. Lately I’ve just felt that all these For-Profit companies are so large and there’s so much room for error, and somebody like me doesn’t matter to them. And frankly, I don’t.
- I think companies like Amex and Tiffany need to realize that I can easily take my business elsewhere, and that the competition definitely exists out there. Example in sterling silver and fine jewelry? Links of London, David Yurman and John Hardy, just off the top of my head.
- Lectures began a couple weeks ago, and if you follow me on Twitter, you know how much I detest 8:00 am lectures, but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do, so the 8:00 am lectures will continue, and yes I will continue to complain about them. That mixed with a healthy dose of full-time work, part-time social life, and full-time girlfriend equal an incredibly packed schedule. I enjoy it though.
- New York Fashion Week came and went, London went by in a blur, and currently, the world is loving loving loving all the shows in Milan. Before we know it, Paris Fashion Week will be coming to a conclusion, and another seasons of clothes will have been dictated to us.
- On the same note, Alberta Fashion Week kicks of here in Calgary, with its opening night tonight. Will yours truly be in attendance? See my blurb on 8:00 am lectures, and you decide whether I’ll be attending runway shows at 7:00 pm and after-parties smack in the middle of the week.
- It feels nice to catch up with the blog, and almost with all of you. Its a strange one-way conversation, but its comforting for me. I’ll be on vacation for a few days, so we’ll see you all shortly. Take care now.
