New Standard

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to check out Calgary’s newest contender in the nightlife scene – Standard YYC. Obviously my experience was a touch biased considering I was there with my favourite people, but all-in-all (despite the Top 40 nonsense), it was a dope experience! And I look forward to going back.

Today was my 26th Birthday. It was on a cold and snowy Sunday, but I haven’t ever felt more warm and cozy inside. I have been showered with greetings, messages, calls and comments; enamoured with gifts and affections; overwhelmed with gratitude for the kind words of those around me. I am so blessed to have …

Relax, Lay Back..

To everyone that I have seen in the past week, this will be redundant – I have felt no excitement nor resentment for my upcoming birthday tomorrow. Apart from musing about what outfit to wear and contemplating an inflated and unrealistic wish list of potential birthday gifts, this year I did not consider a venue, …

I am very excited to finally see what’s inside this precious box that we trekked all the way home from France. And tonight is the night to showcase it!!

Black is the new Black

I don’t care what anybody says, Kanye West is a creative, and is a sharp dresser who pushes boundaries and questions the norm. And although folks might look at the above looks and think that he is more plain now, I think he is echoing the sentiment in fashion these days: minimalist + comfort + …

I think that sometimes, being facetious is actually the most appropriate coping mechanism given certain circumstances. I know more then a few people, however, who find humour, whether appropriate or not, to be completely uncalled for in more grave situations, and I politely …

Nature Calls

Its been a while since we’ve graced the Trans-Canada Highway and trekked over to the no-internet-no-cell-service terrain of north-eastern British Columbia. And despite the circumstances of our travel, it was refreshing to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Calgary, iPhones, day planners, schedules and home renovations. Sometimes I wish we lived in …

Rouge Coco

OH HELLO THERE BRIGHT RED LAMBSKIN LEATHER FRENCH DESIGNER HANDBAG. Nice to meet you, and I certainly hope to re-make your acquaintance very, very soon. I actually had the pleasure of seeing this bag in person at the beautiful Balenciaga boutique on Saint-Honoré in Paris last fall, and I have to say it was hard …

épicerie

I’ve never really been a fan of going grocery shopping, and despite the runway to reality type show that Mr. Lagerfeld showcased in Paris last week, I don’t anticipate a trip to Safeway being any more glamorous any time soon. That being said, I do have to say that with increasing knowledge of the agriculture …
