During our stay at the absolutely stunning Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech hotel in Morocco, we were invited to have an authentic dining experience at the award-winning Al Aïn / Al Ain Restaurant located inside the hotel. To say that the evening took our breath away was an absolute understatement.
Our four course meal included a soup to start, a beautiful Moroccan salad, the traditional Tagine and a mixed grill, and the most decadent dessert, all paired with live Berber music and the most breathtaking ambiance. Delicacies like Royal-style Couscous, Mechoui lamb shoulder and Jawhara with almonds all grace the menu - it really is such a homage to local and traditional fare. Our server was also attentive (and brave) enough to help re-suggest a good order from the menu, ensuring we had the right complimentary dishes and an adequate and filling amount of food.
There's nothing that solidifies your memory of a city much like a delicious meal with your favourite person.
As we were sitting there, listening the beautiful live Berber music, enjoying our exquisite meal, with some of the best service of our lives, we literally could not believe that we were sitting in Africa enjoying a meal. Truly a surreal experience, and once again, thank you to your Fairmont family for making it all happen.
