If you haven’t considered the Fairmont Palliser as the next place you meet your friends for drinks on a Friday night, think again. The luxury hotel chain has just launched an exciting new global menu of tastefully curated and hand-made cocktails designed specifically for the sake of enjoyment and leisure in any of the beautiful spaces which sprinkle each Fairmont location around the world.
Tastemakers from the Fairmont Pacific Rim, the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, The Savoy in London and Fairmount Singapore got together and created a beautifully balanced and delicious offering of classic cocktails with a twist. Luxury hotel bars have always been places where deals were struck and history was made, but also where first dates were had and memories perfected, and this is the thought behind an invigorated menu which features just cocktails.
We had a chance to sip on a selection of these classics perfected in the historic “Kings Arm” room at the Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary, a space where the General Manager theorized alcohol wasn’t consumed since 1982 when the tavern closed its doors. The menu features three categories to sip: the Classics, the Revived Classics and Neat cocktails, each with its own distinct use of spirits and mixing techniques. Our personal favourite was the Sparkling Collins Royale which featured a splash of Veuve Cliquot!
The menu is now being served at both the Rimrock and the Oak Room (where the hotel features live music twice a week!). Stop by and tell us your favourite.
