If you're new here, I would like to introduce my beautiful, tenacious and travel-hungry wife, who runs her blog at MonMode.co and is the mastermind behind most of the travels that we have gone on.
So in true Mon Mode style, she decided that she wanted to visit the three countries which flank the Northern border of central Europe - also known as the Baltic Nations of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania - in four days.
And of course, as most things that Monika plans, it went off without a hitch and ended up being a beautiful trip. Below, I am sharing my favourite memory from each country.
lithania
The day of our visit was a bright & sunny day, and we got to walk around the very gorgeous central part of the old town of Vilnius. We stumbled upon an adorable and had a very delicious (and reasonably priced) lunch with a view overlooking the historic Opera House.
latvia
This was our main hub of activity and the one thing we enjoyed the most was the food! We ate at fancy places, we binged on take-out pizza (and even had KFC for the first time in years!). This quaint city is perfect for a chilled out vacation.
estonia
Although our time here was short, we spent it in a luxury spa and sauna, and it was the perfect combat to the cold and windy conditions outside.
Although it seems crazy to have gone to three countries in four days, the beauty of Europe is that borders are close to each other, and there is a multitude of travel options: flights, trains, buses, cars and sometimes even simply walking! So in true "make-the-most-of-it" fashion, we indulged in a good mix of all three of these historic countries.
