fa·ce·tious | fəˈsēSHəs, adjective
1. Treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humour; flippant.
I think that sometimes, being facetious is actually the most appropriate coping mechanism given certain circumstances. I know more then a few people, however, who find humour, whether appropriate or not, to be completely uncalled for in more grave situations, and I politely disagree. Laughter and joking aren’t meant to make light of situations – they are simply meant to remind us that this too shall pass, one day sometime somehow and some way. So laugh away!
