In a world where Instagram has become a search engine for everything from fashion inspiration, menu selection, hotel booking and home decor, it's so easy to sit back and wonder how everyone seems to have it so together. And although we can hear the assertions a ton - "Instagram is a highlight reel only", "nobody posts their failures" - it is easy to get lost in a black hole and begin to wonder why you don't have / do / travel in the same way as everyone else we so across the internet.
As one of the people in the world who probably actively adds to this complicated issue of Instagram-comparison (my feed is also full of Gucci socks and luxury hotels in Thailand), I am here to tell you that even on the other side of the coin, we doubt ourselves and our lives. And today, I am sharing possible solutions that I have found used to find happiness not on the platform, but in life in general.
A few simple things can seriously turn your day / mood around. For me, listening to happy music is one of those things. Currently, Beyonce's newest "Before I Let Go" has been lifting my spirits like nothing else!
Something else that I have done recently is let the people around me that inspire me actually know how much their success impacts my own vision and strive. And that's the beautiful thing about social media - being able to tell / connect with people like never before.

So apart from music and contemplation, something else that is a surefire happiness generator is going back through your own highlight reel. Scroll back a few weeks, months, even years, and re-remind yourself of all the things you deemed awesome enough to post, and remember all the good times.
And my favourite one? Eat your go-to favourite meal. For me, its a large pizza with bacon and hot peppers from our neighbourhood Dominos. It somehow always does the trick to spark some good old fashioned happiness.

It's not that hard to find happiness in simple, everyday, free things like listening to music or giving someone a compliment. I would love to hear what tactics or tips you have to boost your own happiness?
