Sometime in the middle of last year, a very good friend of mine went through a pretty life changing experience. I spent most of that day with her, and to commemorate her successful and otherwise wicked demeanor throughout the entire thing, I decided to get a semi-permanent reminder of that day, in the form of a scaly little fella who later was deemed Batman.
Now, many months later, Batman is alive and strong, if just a bit sluggish. We often joke that Batman symbolizes our friendship, and as long as he’s alive, so will our bond. But all jokes aside, that little fish does symbolize a lot of important things: resilience, faith, and outstanding courage, just to name a few.
Anyway, since my friend is trekking across Europe for the next 18 days, I offered to “watch” Batman for her. I didn’t realize I was getting special instructions and everything! And the hardest part? You try driving home a standard Stacey while holding a fish bowl in one hand. But, I’m more than happy to do this little favor for such an amazing friend.
