When this year clicked into June, I saw a flurry of memes and quoting talking about how 2020 was only six months away, and how the time is now to take your life into action. I think even Rihanna tweeted it and posted it on her Instagram. And appropriate and inspirational as all of that was at the time, it took this year going into July for me really think seriously about what 2020 means and how I want to plan my life.
So obviously, 2020 is a like a big numbered year for everyone (check out this article that explains it a bit better). A clean numeric year, one which we don't get to have every much as a civilization in just one lifetime. Thinking back, this occurred back in 1919, then next year for 2020, and then again in literally a hunder years at 3030, right? But for me, 2020 is also exactly five years since I got married, exactly ten years since I started dating my now wife. So overall, just a year of celebrations.
and somehow, it feels very appropriate to start the planning process right now
So all that to say, we sat down last weekend and literally planned / mapped out 2020, including the deadline for goals that we set for ourselves, important celebrations (both March 5 and October 5), and other personal dates + events.
It was actually therapeutic and also motivating to track those goals and list some dates. Complete with sticky notes and multiple pieces of paper, I feel like I feel so ready to tackle 2020. And I would strongly encourage you too.
