The month of January always means a ton of self-reflection and introspectiveness. In doing so, I thought of this fun idea of five words that I would use to describe myself:
- one - empathetic
I am proud to be able to place myself in people's perspectives, which means I feel both their joy and their pain. This is sometimes detrimental, but in general it means I am able to understand to and relate with people pretty well.
- two - optimistic
I realized now that regardless of what life throws my way, or more precisely, where I take myself, I am always able to be positive and look forward to the future with high hopes. I guess I've also come to know that we are the writer of our own destiny's and so our outlook and mindset determines our future.
- three - organized
As I wrote about in my To Do list blog post, I've always been very aware of and interested in sorting my tasks and lists, and in getting things done. The best feeling is crossing off an item that has taken a ton of effort and planning to accomplish. But that is a great feeling!
- four - creative
Not only in the digital space or the fashion space or the design space, I think with moving around the world and going boldly into a new career, I've had to be creative in how I conquer tough situations and unexpected turns.
- five - humorous
I remember when I was younger and people said "oh you have a great sense of humour" I never really understood what that meant, but I get it now. I am able to find the humour in situations, and there's nothing I enjoy more than a good, deep, tear-inducing laugh.
So that's me right now: optimistic, creative, empathetic, organized, and humorous. These type of exercises are fun because it also stops me and makes me think: what do I want to think of myself as, or have others describe me as? Would these be the same words I picked five years ago? Five months ago? Love January so much for this type of thinking.
What about you? What words would you describe yourself as?
