To think that I witness my baby brother both turn 18 and then graduate from high school, in one short week, is mind-boggling. I still distinctly remember getting ready for my grad banquet; how young my little siblings were then, how innocent and naive they were. Back then, they were not relatable to me, no matter how related we really were. They were children, and now, they have become my peers, having gone through much of the same experiences as me, in the same neighborhood and at the same school. So that being said, attending baby Joash’s grad banquet last weekend brought with it a flood of memories, and truly does close a long, tricky, complex and generally messy chapter in both their and my family’s life. Now, these kids are unto greater things, opening a new chapter, charting their destiny.
