With the release of his fifth studio album, the message that Usher is sending out is clear; ‘I’m back and still on fiyah’! I remember when I used to jam with/to “My Way” back in the day.. things have certainly changed a lot since then, and (thankfully) so have the sounds and lyrics of Usher.
I dont really know why but I am absolutely hooked to the soulful, pure r&b tracks on this CD. Usher Raymond has got to be one of the most talented vocalists out there. With Here I Stand, the listener gets a more grown up, mature feel, with songs about woman that are more empowering than just taking them home for cheap, quick sex.
This album has been on total repeat in my car, on my iPod, and at home in my room. My favorite songs:
- The Intro
- This Ain’t Sex
- Trading Places
- Moving Mountains
- Love You Gently
- Best Thing (ft. Jay-Z)
- Before I Met You
- His Mistakes
- Appetite
- Lifetime
- Love In This Club Pt. II (ft. Beyonce & Lil’ Wayne)
(SIDEBAR: I went and bought those aviators he’s rocking, and I also ordered a necklace like that, both from Giorgio Armani .. haha this is just as bad as Yeezy)
