One of the most festive spots in downtown Toronto is located right on Front Street, across from Union Station. None other then the newly renovated Fairmont Royal York, this iconic hotel has really outdone themselves this year.
Once inside the grand lobby, the brand new champagne lounge aptly named Clockwork sits right behind the majestic tree, and is the perfect spot for holiday drinks. Want something a bit less upscale and more kitsch? Head to the RYH's Holiday pop-up bar, The Thirsty Elf, where the resident Director of Mixology has created the MOST epic festive cocktails and transformed what used to be Toronto's smallest bar into Toronto's most festive bar!
Being such a literal cornerstone of downtown Toronto, the hotel commissioned Frank Rea Event Design to produce stunning festive windows that truly brighten up Front Street for passers by. They also add the perfect holiday touch to new arrivals into Toronto from Union Station.
Inside the recently renovated lobby stands the glistening Christmas Tree, which had a grand reveal at the end of November. The best part is that both the windows and the tree is of course for the enjoyment of hotel guests but also easily accessible by the public and hotel visitors too.
Life Hack: when we were in the Gold Lounge around 3:00 pm, they had served cinnamon buns and festive cookies, and so together with the complimentary tea and coffee, I set up a little afternoon tea in the Gold Lounge!
And as a hotel guest, if you're staying at Fairmont Gold (which you definitely should), you have access to the famous RYH Gold Lounge, where the chef serves up festive breakfast, afternoon snacks, and evening canapés.
The Fairmont Royal York is also the only hotel to officially partner with the Toronto Christmas Market, and offers a special Holiday Stay Package which includes two express tickets to the market, tickets to the ferris wheel, and hot chocolate.
This year, the hotel also constructed a massive two-story Gingerbread House right in the lobby, facing the iconic glittering Christmas Tree. It is made up of 500 pounds of candy and real gingerbread bricks, and the smell alone will impress you.
From the 2020 celebration at Clockwork, to holiday afternoon tea at Library Bar, to the city's most luxurious stay in the newly opened Legacy Suites, the Fairmont Royal York really thought about it all for festive.
And clearly, we truly believe in the holiday
stay package, because you'll find us very actively
promoting it throughout the city!
