Apart from gifts and experiences, the one thing that I want to do for my upcoming milestone birthday is to actually invest time and money into myself. I want to feel (and look) my best, and to be honest, I don’t normally have time to indulge in these types of things. I usually just squeeze in a haircut here and there and never really invest into my skin, my dental care, or any other regime. So for my birthday this year, I made a list of a few different things I wanted to focus on and then spent the better part of March tackling that list. And for once, instead of being a task list, it instead became a reward list.

BROWS
In my opinion, a guy’s eyebrows really frame his face, and thus, they should be well-shaped and trimmed. But again, I don’t normally have time to make an appointment at a salon to get this done, so I ensured this time that I booked one in advance and went it to ensure my brows are party ready!
TEETH
What started as a simply journey to whiter teeth quickly morphed into a total overhaul of my dental care game. I used the new Crest 3D White Whitestrips with Light for just ten days, and the additional of the light heightens the results so much! I used just the Whitestrips before my wedding, and adding the blue LED light technology made such a dramatic difference in my results. The best part? The whitening will last up to 36 months, so pretty much 3 more birthdays!
But investing in myself is more then just investing in my appearance, so I also splurged on the Oral-B Genius 8000, which connects to an app to ensure I'm brushing for the recommended two minutes and no spots are missed. Coupled with the Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy paste which whitens my teeth while protecting against enamel caused by everyday foods and Scope Advanced that eliminates the regular burning sensation that other mouthwashes get, I know I’ll have the freshest breath, the whitest teeth, and most importantly, the cleanest mouth for my birthday!
FACIAL
This one was definitely one of the highlights of my list, because who doesn’t love someone else massaging / cleansing their face? During our recent stay at the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, I booked myself my first ever facial at the RnR Wellness Spa located right in the hotel. The Anti-Aging facial was both refreshing but also a good wake-up call that I need to book these regularly to keep my skin looking and feeling great.
Looking good isn't self-importance, it's self respect.
I'm so glad that I made time for myself prior to this birthday, and let me tell you, it seriously improves the way you perceive yourself when everything is groomed, glowing, and smelling fresh. And honestly, I feel like such a "good" adult to have invested in a dentist quality toothbrush which will keep my pearly whites both pearly and white!
