Tomorrow marks the beginning of Milan Menswear Fashion Week – yes I still follow the fashion calender closely. When Burberry came knocking on my door – or I guess my email inbox – I couldn’t believe I was about to live out one of my lifelong dreams; of attending fashion shows and after-parties, mingling with supermodels, designers, press and fellow bloggers. At the time, everything made sense and seemed to have fallen into place. Of course, the reality of cross-Atlantic airfare, hotels in the worlds’ global cities and the high demands on bloggers were a much needed wake-up call. This independent fashion blogger lifestyle is not easy to get into, and is even harder to afford – but more on that later. Would I ever try to set that up again? Sure I would try. But the ‘real’ demands of University, career, family, friends and girlfriend keep that desire at bay. Nonetheless, I always have the internet; Twitter, GQ.com and other blogs make sure that the latest fashion reach me minutes after the hit the runway. Because you can take the fashion out of the blog, but you can’t take the fashion out of the blogger.
