London Fashion Week kicked off this past Friday, September 18th, and so far, the likes of Matthew Williamson and Vivienne Westwood Red Label have put on runway shows there. This is London’s 25th year hosting Fashion Week, and in celebration, Christopher Bailey decided to bring the prestigious house of Burberry back to its homeland in the United Kingdom, and thus, the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2010 Womenswear show will be held in Londontown tomorrow night, as opposed to its previous home in Milan. This catwalk show will officially close fashion week, and will be followed by an Industry-only after-party hosted by Burberry at their breath-taking new headquarters on Horseferry Road. Joe, that guy from London, will most definitely be 00o00-ing at the show. The Bagaholicboy will be feeding his addiction, and Kevin will be in presence with his MANy bags. The Sartorialist is obviously in London for Fashion Week, and one of my new favorites, Jak & Jil, is expected to be in attendance, along with countless other blogging & fashion celebrities. Oh, and did I mention that Canada will be getting exclusive coverage of both the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2010 Runway show as well as the after-party? How, you ask? Yours truly has been invited too dude.
I’ll be leaving my Euro-FF and his fam-jam in a few hours here. My flight for London leaves bright and early tomorrow morning, and needless to say, my Twitter will be in full effect, so make sure you check back often to get the absolute latest from London Fashion Week. I’ll be posting a whole slew of posts once I get back to my home here in Amsterdam. I’ve just finished packing, and thought I’d throw this up before I go and experience one of the greatest experiences of my life. Special thanks to the House of Burberry for this dope opportunity. See ya kids in London!
