Anyway, over the years, I’ve acquired a unique and large denim collection, spanning many brands, and price ranges (from $175 to $458), so I figured our readers would definitely benefit from these Confessions. Featured here will be denim I’ve fallen in love with, denim I own, updates to my collection, denim I hope to buy, and anything else denim related. Sit back, and enjoy my adventures with Jean Fashion.
First up, the High Kai’s, in black, by Nudie Jeans. As much as denim by Nudie has become mainstream and overplayed, I still admire their fits, washes, cuts, and certain styles, such as the High Kai. I haven’t always been a fan of black denim – it’s only after purchasing a pair of black-on-black-on-black Sevens for my 20th birthday did I realize the importance of having a no-wash, black pair of jeans. They are the perfect way to dress up almost any outfit, even with kicks and tee abound.
I personally don’t own a lot of Nudie jeans, but the ones I do are among my most comfortable jeans. My friend Pharrell owns a wicked pair of black “gun metal” Nudies, and I saw them on sale at High Grade a few weeks ago, but my girlfriend didn’t let me buy them.
Anyway, these super slim jeans are the best way to accent a sick pair of high tops, and their slightly higher waist means that the moon won’t be in full rise anytime soon, unless you super low-ride your denim. These jeans are most definitely a (very near) future purchase. USD $215.
