Has anyone noticed my strange infatuation with black denim as of late? A few years back, I always vowed I would never invest in a pair of black jeans, because it seemed so contradictory; denim should be blue, as jeans are traditionally blue. Oh how naive I have been, but as least I can acknoloedge and appreciate the error of my ways. The classic problem arose when I acquried other items that were denim, but not pants. How do I rock a denim jacket? Denim checks? A denim belt? Or a denim bag? Obviously, I can’t wear jeans with that! But, alas, the black denim (which is usually a very raw or stiff denim) comes in handy. And the best part – I’ve found it to be such a versatile staple in my wardrobe. Perfect for dress shoes, perfect for loafers, and even more perfect for sneakers, I can’t believe I’ve gone so many years of my life without black denim. Wait, actually, I can. I went many years without Tom Ford cologne and Louis Vuitton shades. I digress.
Aforementioned best friend who works at high end retail store and is always pre-shopping for me, found me these Diesel Black Gold tapered denim, with inseam pipping detail. It has the most tapered legs of anything I own, I honestly can’t even pull it up past my calf. And foreal, the perfect leg for dress shoes, for sneakers, for vans, for chucks, for boots, for flip-flops. These have become my newest, and most obsessed, style staple.
