Ann Demeulemeester Men’s Spring/Summer 2010 Ready-To-Wear
As you may already know based on my recent tweet, my recent endeavor to rock one of those sick bondage/band-aid shirts from the Burberry Prorsum S/S10 RTW resulted in failure, as Canada is just lame. Don’t get me started man, seriously. On a brighter note, this Antwerp based designer has been keeping me coming back for more for quite sometime now. Her goth chic look has just the right amount of edginess for me – without being overly creepy and dark (which, don’t get me wrong, isn’t a bad thing, just not to my personal taste). I really loved what she did for Spring/Summer, with the waist-cinching cummerbund-esque satin pieces, the wide triple-buckle waist belts, the harem pants, the signature lace-up black boots, the interesting silk headbands donned by every model strutting the runway shirtless. Of course, one of the things I love most about Fashion is the sheer inspiration an individual can wrench out from a single runway look, not to mention from an entire collection. I’m obviously not going to go buy an Ann Demeulemeester piece (especially considering she only sells in Tokyo & Antwerp, as well as on Luisa Via Roma), but I’ll definitely be trying to channel her Man for Spring/Summer 2010. But don’t worry, I’m not planning on going shirt-less anytime soon. All the best with your NYE outfits.
