[bigletter]My hair has always been something I've been kind of proud of. And I guess it would be what stylists consider 'virgin hair' Apart from one time back in Grade 8 when I got myself some box dye highlights, my hair has never been coloured. So when my sister-in-law (who is, by the way, a professionally trained hair stylists and aesthetician) said, hey, you should definitely do blond hair, I actually didn't even hesitate.[/bigletter]
As someone with very black hair (lol), I knew that going blond was going to be big commitment. I did a bunch of research online - because of course. I knew that for a brown guy taking his hair to blond, it would take a few hours of treatment. My sister told me about how it actually meant a potentially double bleach and then a tone.
and this really was something I always wanted to try
So, with her encouragement, and under her expertise, I just kind of went for it. We bought the supplies (curb-side pickup of course) and settled in for a few hours of hair processing.
The good thing is, my little brother has been dying his hair blond for a few years, so we definitely checked in with him about how his hair blond journey had been, considering not only is he also a brown guy who dyes his hair blond, but because also because we literally share the same hair genetics.
Overall, the entire treatment went way better then I expected, and when I posted the result on Instagram, you all LOVED it. Needless to say, I think I'll keep this for a while.
