Back on Wednesday, I never thought come Saturday I would be in a souped up 93 Prelude, going down Highway II, en route to Edmonton, Alberta. But that’s where I found myself today, cruising at a smooth 130 clicks per hour, laughing with an old high school buddy of mine (lets call him Pharrell).
Tonight we celebrate Barbara’s 22nd Birthday, at a club in West Edmonton Mall that used to be called Rum Jungle. The new Empire @ West Ed is supposedly a chic, upscale joint frequented by the trendy mid-twentys crowd here in E-town. I know because we were asked to bring dress shoes and collar shirts.
We rolled into Edmonton at around 2:00 pm, and boy was it ever hot! We met up with our friend Matty, strolled down Whyte Ave, and had some margarita’s at Julio’s Barrio. Not gunna lie, Edmonton has a fucccked up crowd. Hahahaha. I mean the things some of these people wear… wow. Whyte Ave is supposed to be their equivalent to our 17th..and dude, it doesnt even come close.
Anyway, as I sit here on the balcony of my friend’s downtown condo, sipping on a Vodka-Pineapple and going through my declining supply of Winston lights, I realize how important it is to get out of your comfort, seize the day, and just seriously enjoy life.
