In the middle of Milan Fashion Week, the famous French shoemaker Christian Louboutin did something distinctly different, and refreshingly unique. Away from the hustle of show-goers, car service, and photographers, the team behind Louboutin Homme set up shop (so to speak) in a classic auto garage. The weather definitely felt like cooperating that day, so under the bright Italian sun, we walked through a gate down a dirt road, and to our pleasant surprise, found ourselves in the middle of a modern oasis. Vintage cars were re-done with Christian Louboutin branding (bright red interiors, of course, and the Louboutin monogram on the doors), crisp drinks were being served, and the absolutely beautiful new samples from Monsieur Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2017 were sitting as casually in the garage as the tools and motorcycles.
In his new collection, Christian is inviting his male clients to have all the options the female clients have had for years: to be able to wear Loubs to the office, to the gym, to the club, and out for dinner. With a multitude of styles to pick from, ranging from the subtle to the in your face dope, now the guys can finally have the same fun that ladies do, all with the signature red sole of course.
Normally, when you thought of Christian Louboutin men’s shoes, you probably had two images that came to mind: the classic sneaker, and the bedazzled/spiked loafer. Although these styles did well, Louboutin fans asked for more, and that is exactly what has been delivered.
And of course, each piece, whether a pair of shoes, a wallet, a bag or a portfolio, has a signature twist or interesting detail, because as we know, Christian Louboutin exudes a playful and fun spirit in his collections. And we definitely saw this in both the fashion and also in the innovative presentation!
This was truly a highlight of our Milan Fashion Week experience, and we can’t wait to actually shop this collection when it hits stores next year!
