As I’ve often said, year after year, March can compare only to December in formalities, set-in-stone commitments and changing expectations, and as 2013 thus far has proven to me, this year was no exception. So to kill almost four birds with the same half-stone, we decided to flee the madness (and snow) of the city and find refuge at our third home, in the mountains of British Columbia. This weekend trip fulfilled our Easter duck roast dinner, my birthday cake/gifts, and among other things, some much needed rest and relaxation as we gear up to end March with my birthday, celebrate Easter and start anticipating final exams etc. Needless to say, sitting in the natural hot springs while massive snow flakes fell on my head, deep in conversation with my future father-in-law, while imagining the delicious dinner and movies that awaited later that night, is a pretty amazing feeling. I pray I can tap into that peace once tomorrow – and the regular work week and usual craziness – sets in. How was your weekend?
