When we first got introduced to the Library Hotel Collection last May (at the launch of their Toronto property), one of the first things we started talking about was finding a way to visit one of their crown jewel properties in Budapest, that had been rated the #1 hotel in the world on TripAdvisor.
The musically inspired 5-star luxury boutique hotel and spa was named the world’s best hotel in 2017 by TripAdvisor reviews, and as we know, the internet is a savage place, so that is certainly an accolade to shout from the rooftops! And while some properties take mild inspiration, and others take it to a really tacky space, the Aria Hotel Budapest beautifully weaves music and artists throughout its common spaces and stunning suites.
Because we were already planning to return to Europe after Milan + Paris Fashion Week, we thought that this would be the perfect time to finally visit the historic and mythical city of Budapest. And when searching for accommodations, one thing was clear: the only choice was the spectacular Aria Hotel Budapest.
From the sheet music inspired lush carpet in the suite to the surround sound speakers (that play in the bathroom!), the central theme of music is heavily seen through the hotel, in the most wonderful and oftentimes surprising way. The lobby features gold guitar ornamental lighting, while a giant piano keys motif flows from the floor right up to the large sky-window in the centre.
The entire facade is stunning, and always filled with natural light. We actually spent quiet a bit of time in this space, as the daily breakfast (more on that later) was served here, and also the nightly reception of wine and cheese with live music (of course) was also hosted in this beautiful space.
Some other amazing features only a five-star hotel would offer: your own Smartphone with unlimited internet access to bring with you everywhere so you never get lost! And also, an in-room iPad, oh and also, a complimentary full-service hot breakfast.
The service from the staff was incredible (as expected) but I was really obsessed with the central location. The world-famous St. Stephen's Basilica is literally down the block - we explored both the Buda and Pest side of the city on foot, also thanks to our complimentary Smartphone.
The hotel offers a stunning rooftop bar (the High Note Sky Bar) offers a beautiful vantage point which overlooks the entire city, and across the famous Danube river.
The world class spa + sauna services (the Harmony Spa) were a literal godsend - Monika and I went there every night to take a soak and a good sweat, and these services are also complimentary with your stay. The entire time spent there was just basked in so much luxury and refreshment and service, even thinking back is transforming my mood and mindset.
So what's it really like to stay at the #1 hotel? Absolutely amazing.
We are so fortunate that our line of work
has brought us to such stunning properties.
Thank you again Aria Hotel Budapest for hosting us!
