VIEW OF THE STRIP FROM THE PICASSO AT THE BELLAGIO // LAS VEGAS // 05.08.12
Its not very often that we find the opportunity, the time, or the venue to divulge in fine dining, and so when our travel companions in Las Vegas told us that they would be celebrating their anniversary, we were excited at the chance to share a lovely evening together. After much research, we decided on an AAA Five Diamond restaurant in The Bellagio, named after world famous artist: The Picasso. Reservations were made, outfits were carefully selected, and we arrived in the lobby of the hotel just in time for our reservation. The executive chef prepares menus rooted in France and parts of Spain, remensecent of where Pablo Picasso spent much of his life. His original artworks are also featured inside, and the ceramics used during food service are also part of Picasso’s art collection. We had requested seats on the patio which overlooks the Bellagio fountains (which go off every 16 minutes with spectacular choreographed waterworks), and so we settled in for a memorable evening. The service was absolutely impeccable, with designated staff for each dining task: from helping with the wine selection, to re-filling the bread basket, to bringing fresh cutlery in between each course, to re-filling the water glasses. Never have I felt so well taken care of. There was roughly six courses served, including oysters, quail eggs, elk, venison, shrimp, trout and veal. We truly just sat back and enjoyed the fountains, the warm dessert air, the bottles of wines, the wonderful service, the delectable food, and most importantly, each others’ company. This was by far one of my favorite memories from our recent trip. Make sure to click “READ MORE” below for detailed shots.
