Because knitwear is typically associated with cabin vibes and cozy nights, I've always been a little bit impartial to them for my winter wardrobe. My style is a bit more refined and less casual, and so I foolishly assumed that knits would never be in my fall wardrobe. But in the last few years, I've been experimenting with different knitwear options (mostly because I'm actually just cold!) and I've found that the right style, type, and color of knit can actually completely elevate a look. So today, in partnership with Uniqlo Canada, I am sharing three ways to wear knits this autumn season:
- one -
This extra fine merino wool knit in wine is featured here as the main piece of the look, its easy to pair dark denim and comfy loafers with this ultra-luxe knit for a polished look. I especially love how the deep burgundy color matches the details on my loafer here.
- two -
This premium lambswool crewneck knit is the perfect layering piece - it kept me cozy for all the walks in Budapest but definitely not feeling frumpy. I paired it here with metallic sneakers and a bit of a standout jacket for some interesting detail.
- three -
This cashmere crewneck in a deep bottle green actually was an amazing accent to this camel coat and red belt bag, and thus, became a great accent piece for an otherwise more monochrome outfit.
So I continue on the journey of discovering the versatility and outfit-making properties of knitwear. For something that I considered a basic staple, I am pleasantly surprised at how much it transformed my looks, and I had fun layering them, using them as a pop color, and as a standalone piece. Do you have any other ways you wear knits?
