MARQUEE NIGHTCLUB AT THE COSMOPOLITAN LAS VEGAS // AUGUST 7, 2012
They call it one of the largest and most energetic nightlife destinations in the world, flocked by celebrities and millionaires alike. And they have good reason to call it that. Tt was no surprise to any of us that the club scene in Las Vegas is still unparalleled. Sure, the nightclubs in Paris, Berlin and London are pretty dope in their own right, but for me, nothing beats a top-of-the-line venue in the glittering and illustrious Sin City. And while we were there this past August, we made sure that we experienced that. All of that. From getting approached by promoters, to waiting in line, running bar tabs, getting bottle service, pre-drinking and post-drinking, ending up on casino floors afterwards, and Denny’s after that, getting home at 8:00 am – we lived Las Vegas nightlife. Pure at Caesars Palace was a classic, Lavo at The Palazzo was a new twist, but what took the cake for us was Marquee at the Cosmopolitan. The security and line-up dynamics were unreal, and once up the elevator (which came with its very own singing security guard that hyped the mood!), there were three different venues to choose from to party in; the hip-hop underground room, the lounge-y upstairs loft, and the main hype mega dance floor, which seeped unto the pool lined with cabanas and infinity pools. The view from our cabana was unreal and the service was beyond exceptional. The staff, servers and security worked like clock-work; the ice getting stocked every time a drank was made, the mixers replenished when a quarter of them were used up. Even our server had scheduled lipstick application breaks. When the clock hit 2:00 am, we were transported to one of the booths that flanked the massive dance floor inside – which was perfect because that’s exactly where all the energy was at. All in all, a huge recommendation for anyone planning on visiting Las Vegas anytime soon. Strangely, the catchy new song by Fun played at every club we went to, so “toniiiiight, we are youuuuung” has become our quintessential Vegas song, and anytime one of us hears it, the memories come rushing back. And as the popular move, The Hangover indicates, looking through the photos that we ended up with from the night before was definitely insightful, and helped to explain the random bruises, scratches, and general headaches we felt during the day.
