So the temperatures are slowly, slowly rising, and I can almost feel the Spring vibes coming on. But the mornings and evenings are chilly, and lets be real folks, global warming is a thing and we just never know what weather to expect anymore! So in these uncertain time, the best thing to do is to layer it on. Last month at NYFW, we saw tons of amazing style (both on the runway and on the street), of just how cool menswear layering has gotten recently. This is my take on floral layering for spring, thanks to my friends at Le Chateau.

on the runway
Layering has become so much more then putting a coat on top of a shirt. We're talking base layers of t-shirts and turtlenecks, button up shirts, knits, and then coats (usually half off). The runways from Paris to New York to Milan highlighted amazing layering styles, with both monochrome looks and bright contrasts taking centre stage.
For me, this layering trend is the perfect way to experiment with louder prints or patterns, something I have been shying away from recently. By piling on the turtleneck and the trench coat in similar colours, this floral print button down was neatly paired and not too flashy, which is definitely my preference.
The best part of this trend is how much versatility and options it adds - the possibilities are endless and it results in countless different looks. Also, these looks will keep you cosy and warm, which is always a bonus, especially in windy cities like New York!

What do you think about this trend? For me, its more about the convenience of having multiple layers versus the fashion aspect. But when fashion and convenience meet, then life is like, really, really good, right?
