By now the numerology thing is no surprise and so turning 33, on 03/30, seemed like a great excuse to have an extra special celebration. We decided that although Covid restrictions are still tight, the team at the Fairmont has ensured a safe and enjoyable experience, and a first-time stay at the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise feels like the perfect first road trip and first Fairmont for baby Avia.
In generous partnership with
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Of course a few things like housekeeping and a buffet in the Gold Lounge were different because of the pandemic, but the entire check-in experience was definitely beautiful, and the corner suite we checked into had what felt like 35 giant windows, which all overlooked the iconic world-famous Lake Louise.
The property is defintiely a resort - there is fireside hangouts, sleigh rides, ice skating, and a Kids Club (which Avia is too young for currently). There is also nature walks which we defintiely did on the day that we checked out.
Packing for this trip was a first - how many diapers should we bring? And toys? Food? Outfits for baby and outfits for us? How should we plan the drive over during her nap? It definitely takes a lot more planning and foresight to travel with a baby.
And as much as it was baby's first road trip and baby's first Fairmont hotel, my wife Monika ensured that it was still a celebration of my 33rd birthday. We decided to check in on the day of my birthday (the 30th) and the amazing team at the Fairmont Gold level did everything to make it extra special.
We enjoyed breakfast and canapes at the Gold Lounge, and in our giant king bed during in-room dining, and for my special birthday meal, we checked out Walliser Stube for authentic German-Swiss cuisine including schnitzel and cheese fondue.
This was the greay way to celebrate my
33rd Birthday. Thank you to the
Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for having us!
