As you all know, UGG Australia originally designed their Classic Short Ugg Boot for men, but they weren’t picking up on any trend waves. As soon as they were marketed to women, though, they became the next BIG trend, following closely behind Tiffany & Co. Bracelets, Coach Wristlets, and the BlackBerry Curve.
It seems that if any girl who wants to move up the ranks of just a girl who shops to Aritzia to a young, up-and-coming fashionista, NEEDS to own a pair of UGG boots, an now that they have in a huge variety of colors, styles, materials and lengths, there is literally an UGG boot for everyone.
Anyway, back to my original point, being made for men, I know of some guys and grown business men who frequently don a pair of Classic Shorts to combat our harsh Albertan winters. But since UGG Boots are a “women’s shoes now”, they naturally carry a feminine stigma, and men are afraid of being labelled homosexual if they choose to rock them. Of course, there’s guys out there who are actually confident about their sexuality and can actually maintain the I-don’t-give-a-fuck mentality, and kudos to them.
For the more conservative guys who still want to cash in on this style genius, which emphasizes warmth and comfort, UGG has designed another line of boots and loafers just for men, which are, finally, available for sale in Calgary. High end boutiques like Harry Rosen and top quality footwear retailers like Stoneridge are now carrying most, if not all, of the UGG for men collections, also called MUGGS (hahaha).
My favorite shoe being the Beacon @ $275.
