Held at the Calgary Golf & Country Club, this night honors the strenuous efforts of many Calgarians in the fight to advocate for children rights across the world. Nigel Fisher spoke on his experience in Northern Kenya and in Afghanistan, and more specifically of the importance of education for girls around the world. I was also given the opportunity to share about my not-so-recent Study Visit to Guyana. Before either of us addressed the crowed, Mr. Fisher took me aside and gave me pointers on how to approach the presentation. What an absolute breath of fresh air. I’m still seriously star-struck.
Mad desserts.
My UNICEF on Campus Executive Team with Nigel Fisher, President & CEO of UNICEF Canada.
(sans Francis, Bryna, Alice & Kevin)
Mr. Fisher addressed me by name and gifted me with his personal business card,
so I can get a hold of him for a briefly discussed future event in the
upcoming academic year for UNICEF on Campus. What an honor.
