For our very first London Collections Men event, we made our way down Paddington Street for the very innovative presentation of Universal Works, who used stop motion animation to bring to life their SS17 collection. An undercurrent theme of anti-establishment revolutionary imagery floated fluidly alongside military and workwear style trousers, jackets and collar shirts. Life-size cutouts of the on-screen imagery resulted in a graphic representation of the collection, and the empty warehouse vibes mixed with hip, blaring music definitely set the revolutionary tone. The designer drew influence from Cuban rebels and Havana locals, and the presentation featured the graphic design work of Saul Bass. To bring that stop motion to life, we have created a short GIF of the collection for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
