We’ve all either heard the stories – or been the reasons for the stories – regarding the mayhem, pandemonium and craziness when it comes to the sneakers launched by Kanye West in collaboration with ADIDAS. Every release has been sold out in literally minutes, and they are such a popular shoe that stores actually run a raffle for who gets to purchase these precious shoes. Kanye’s association with the Kardashians has definitely helped to pump up the hype for these babies; its almost double the demographic that is now exposed to and wanted to invest in the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s. But I wanted to ask the question (that perhaps other were afraid to) – is it worth it to drop anywhere from $300 to $1000 (if buying from a re-seller) for a sneaker that – to me – looks like a slightly altered version of the Nike Roshe sneaker?
And don’t mistake my questions for ‘hate’ – I am a Kanye West stan through and through; love every album, inspired by his style, his steeze and his #KanyeConfidence. The ‘sociologist’ in me always has to wonder and to ask, so what? Kanye designed them in collab with Adidas, yes, and Kim Kardashian works out in them, okay so what? On the journey for the answer to this question, I actually got a chance to try on a pair of these super rare shoes, and guys, I think I’m a believer. I won’t bore you with facts about style and subtle detailing. At the end of the day, these are perhaps the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. It feels like you are walking on clouds. Plus, add in there the hype factor that everyone knows you got fire on your feet, and I’m kind of sold on these. Now, to find somewhere to actually purchase a pair… any suggestions? Comment below!
